When paper/Excel is still fine
One room, one person, no GACP application yet — a disciplined notebook beats software you never open. That deserves to be said plainly. The trouble starts when any of three things happen: more than one person works the farm, more than one batch runs at a time, or an inspection date appears on the calendar. Those are the points where manual entry becomes a full-time job and gaps start opening.
The hidden cost of "free"
